A few important details about how Alchemy manages the operations behind food and beverage brands.
What is Alchemy Managed Operations?
Alchemy Managed Operations is a fractional operations service for food and beverage CPG brands. Alchemy coordinates production, suppliers, procurement, inventory visibility, documentation, and operating costs on behalf of the brand.
Is AMO the same as hiring an operations consultant?

Do we need to develop our products with Alchemy to use AMO?
No. Brands can enter Managed Operations with existing products, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Alchemy can onboard the operation and establish a management process around the existing business.
Does Alchemy replace our co-manufacturer?
No. Your co-manufacturer continues manufacturing your products. Alchemy coordinates and oversees the operational relationship, helping manage production planning, material requirements, communication, and issue resolution.
Can Alchemy manage ingredient and packaging purchases?
Yes. Procurement coordination is included within Managed Operations through the Alchemy Procurement Platform. Purchases remain subject to the client’s applicable approvals and purchasing arrangements.
Will we still control operational decisions?
Yes. Your business retains decision-making authority over matters such as purchase commitments, spending approvals, product disposition, and strategic direction. Alchemy manages execution within the agreed scope.
How is Managed Operations priced?
Managed Operations is structured around the size and complexity of the engagement, including factors such as product portfolio and operating requirements. We review your operation and explain the applicable fee structure before work begins.
Can AMO grow with our business?
Yes. Engagement scope can evolve as products are added, manufacturing volume increases, or operational requirements become more complex. Larger organizations may require an enterprise-level operating arrangement.
